Christmas Fair Committee PDF Print E-mail

The Christmas Craft Fair is a yearly family event held in the beginning of December at night at the school.  The goal of the this event is to offer our community a family-oriented, fun and festive evening while raising as much money as possible for our school.  Over the past few years, it has come to be the biggest fundraising event of the school year.  At the 2009 Christmas Craft Fair $4,081.39 was raised and the previous year, $2,679.80.  The event has various aspects to it including over 35 local artisans and crafters, a Bake Table, Silent Auction , Craft Room, Pictures with Santa, Christmas Café, Movie Room and Cookie Room.

The Christmas Fair Committee is responsible for the organization and execution of the event.  The Committee starts to meet regularly in mid-fall.   Volunteers  are needed for the night of the event to help with set up/tear down and shifts for the various rooms.  As well, the parents of the school are asked to bake and wrap  a festive item for the Bake Sale.  The Grade 7’s run the Christmas Café as the funds they raise go towards their year end trip.

Last year's Committee members were Paula Hitsman (Chair – outgoing), Theresa Wentworth (outgoing), Dara Bell (outgoing) , Lynn Read, Tracey Edwards, April Rommel, Sherri Muir and Nicole Smith.
